Why Use ILCS?
ILCS overcomes many of the inherent problems of traditional ex vivo culture models that use isolated and thus heavily manipulated leukocytes. Performance of ILCS is simple, direct and does not require cell culture facilities or trained personnel. A butterfly needle and a 37°C heating block are all that one needs to perform the testing.
Coupled with a custom Multi-Analyte Profile (MAP) testing service, the ILCS-MAP measures the response of the white blood cells to various stimuli. The activation in whole blood closely mimics the cellular response in vivo. Standard ILCS stimulants include a battery of mitogenic molecules including lipopolysaccharide. Custom tubes can contain any potential stimulant including antigens, allergens, drug compounds, etc.
